Welcome! This is the online portfolio of graphic designer Antti Grundstén. At the moment, I'm finishing my bachelor's degree at the University of Art and Design Helsinki. I'm available for freelance work.
I've been working with the student union magazine Torso ever since I started my graphic design studies at TaiK in 2007. Showcased here is the funeral issue, celebrating the death of our beloved student union as Aalto University union took over. This issue was designed in collaboration with Martin Martonen.
Club Ambulant was a group exhibition of third year spatial and furniture design students of TaiK, held at the 2009 Milan Furniture Fair. I was asked to design the graphic identity and effective and sustainable communication and marketing solutions for the project, on a very tight budget. I came up with a clever brochure that can be folded out into a poster; when multiple posters are placed side by side, the pattern works like wallpaper.
Calendar for the year 2009. Designed in collaboration with Salla Kirjalainen. Our calendar suggestion won the annual competition held by student union TOKYO. The heavy-duty cardboard cover was cut randomly from a larger silkscreened piece, making each calendar unique.
Graphic design for the 1/09 issue of Sibelius Academy's interest group magazine Sibis. Designed in collaboration with Salla Kirjalainen.
A board game concept for the City of Helsinki, done as an assignment in TaiK. In the game, the players act as city administrators for rental apartments. The goal is to build a city with enduring and healthy social diversity.
I illustrated a series of posters for the 40th anniversary of student housing foundation HOAS in 2009. Later on these illustrations were used for other marketing purposes, as well. HOAS provides low-cost housing for students in Helsinki.
Miscellaneous print work from 2009: T-shirt designs for custom limited edition clothing, postcard and christmas card designs and posters. All silkscreen work is handmade craftsmanship by yours truly.
